Position Description

We are looking for Group Fitness Instructors that can provide high quality, safe, motivating Freestyle or Les Mills Group Fitness classes at AeroMax Fitness Health Club on a casual basis.

Selection Criteria

♦ Knowledge and Skills

• well developed verbal communication skills
• well developed interpersonal skills
• comprehensive knowledge of Group Fitness class structure
• sound knowledge of current trends in the industry
• sound knowledge of safe and appropriate exercise techniques
• ability to work as part of a team
• knowledge of contra indicators to exercise
• knowledge of conditions relating to special populations
• first aid skills

♦ Experience

•  previous experience conducting Group Fitness classes

♦ Qualifications and/or Training

• current First Aid certificate
• Group Fitness Instructors Accreditation
• Les Mills Accreditation (preferred but not essential)

Responsibilities

♦ Conduct Group Fitness Classes

• structure Group Fitness classes to suit varying levels of fitness
• update and modify classes and techniques on a regular basis
• provide appropriate Group Fitness class music CD’s
• liaise with class participants to ascertain fitness levels and medical conditions
• arrive at least 5 mins before the scheduled class time so the class starts on time
• maintain current accreditation

• report equipment faults to the Member Services team
• provide a high quality of program and service delivery
• work in co-operation with the other instructors and Group Fitness Team Leader to continually develop and improve the Group Fitness Program at AeroMax Fitness Health Club
• provide information relating to health and fitness topics to participants asappropriate
• provide a high level of internal and external customer service and comply with AeroMax Fitness Health Club core values at all times
